Old Ladies.

Prayer changes EVERYTHING.

Christ changed families and whole communities by healing children.
He changed the world for a woman by not stoning her.
He changed the world by hanging on a cross and standing the way of Satan’s intentions for the world.

King David changed the world by not throwing the spear back.
By not killing the king.
By dancing for the lord.

Esther stood in the way of her people being destroyed.
Ehud liberated a whole kingdom.
Joseph enabled a whole region to eat through a famine.

Because they all heard God and acted on it.

intercession |ˈɪntəˈsɛʃ(ə)n|
the action of intervening on behalf of another : through the intercession of friends, I was able to obtain her a sinecure.
• the action of saying a prayer on behalf of another person : prayers of intercession.

God calls us to stand in the gap for people.
In our own lives, but also in the lives of people all over the planet.

An example of this.

Kanye West, in my opinion is one of the greatest producers on the planet. He has guts to trail blaze what some would label a very arrogant lifestyle, but one that almost knows very little fear. He has influenced many in the music industry, and he has influenced millions in the world with his music, his art, his fashion and his boisterousness.

Imagine his influence drenched in Gods intentions for him.

A lyric of his

“We rappers are role models we rap we don’t think
I ain’t here to argue about his facial features
Or here to convert atheists into believers
I’m just trying to say the way school need teachers
The way Kathie Lee needed Regis that’s the way I need Jesus
So here go my single dog radio needs this
They say you can rap about anything except for Jesus
That means guns, sex, lies, video tapes
But if I talk about God my record won’t get played Huh?”

There are people in this world who have incredible influence over us, our kids, our governments, our communication systems, our cultures.

I’ve seen prayer do some crazy things:- healings, life change, weather change, pain avoidance, finances provided, food provided, safety assured, comfort etc etc

Theres over 2000 hours in three months. What could happen, if for 2000 hours, someone in the world was praying for Kanye to realize how much God loves him. How much Jesus did on the cross?

Jesus guided us to pray for our leaders so that if would go well for us. And I don’t think that he meant just political leaders. If our rockstars sang songs of life and love as opposed to selfish consumerism and fantastical facades, maybe our children’s demeanor would change. Maybe if our youtube celebrities were genuinely talented and funny as opposed to skillful with a phone camera in a fight, we would have less bored children finding destructive ways to entertain themselves. Creativity would sore.

But it begins in our lounge rooms.

I realised this week, that maybe the reason our grandmothers are such powerful prayer warriors is, because they have lived large lives and have come to the conclusion that the best use of our time isn’t sitting around, it isn’t entertaining ourselves, its hanging out with the father and partnering with him in changing the world. Of all social groupings, grandmothers are by father the prayer warrior leaders.

Can we young, energetic, easily distracted men and women learn something from our elders? the difference between us? When God calls us to go to a jungle and bring life and love to a community, we can physically do it easier than an older arthritic person. But the principle is sooo powerful either way.

HEAR GOD and DO = the world gets to meet the perfect lover and rescuer.

Pick a celebrity and pray for them.

What if 3000 of us prayed 10 minutes every day for a year for that celebrity. That’s 60 hours. That’s a whole bunch of Holy Spirit action on that one celebrity. And as we prayed for them, God would give would give us more ideas, more specifics about that man or woman. More ways to bless them and their communities.

We can change the world with just our lips and our hearts and our ears.

So sit back. Relax.

Change the world with Jesus.
